Official Toulon Tourist Office website

toulon design

Having been a fan of Toulon Design throughout their history, I was eager to see if this change in identity would have any impact on the quality of the putters. The midnight black finish gives a very premium look and the white alignment lines on the top of the leading edge and on the inside of the fangs frame the ball well and are a good aid at address. As you can tell, we really liked this putter and as such it made it into our comprehensive guide on the best putters on the market.

Ping’s PLD Limited will feature periodic limited-edition releases consisting of either putters that are played on Tour, or iconic designs from history. According to Ping, these putters are mostly targeted toward collectors, so they will have serialized numbers and will not be available for custom modifications. Not every golfer has access to custom-built golf putters like PGA Tour players do, but with Ping’s new PLD (Putting Lab Design) program, they can get pretty darn close. Upon cracking the box open to take my first look at the San Diego built for me, it was clear that Toulon Design has taken the time to painstakingly build something that any equipment lover should try. If you are the type of person who says, “I’m a golfer” when asked at a cocktail party what do you like to do in your free time, then seriously check out Toulon Design ASAP.

Top-50 in Strokes Gained: Putting

With this release we aimed to honor some of these incredible players, paying tribute to them with our most important blade design and creating an individual icon for each of these six legends. We selected from a very long list and truly there are far more legendary Texans than there is space on the sole of a putter -- so let’s treat this as a start. In a very short time, Toulon Design went from being an independent putter company to part of the #1 putter maker in golf, Odyssey.

Top-50 in OWGR: Blade or Mallet?

From a young age, I have primarily sifted my way through putters designed around the modern blade with the L-shaped hosel. Whether it be a Ping Anser 2 or Scotty Cameron Newport 1995 First Run, some of those putters have hung around, while most have not with a destination unknown. Call me stuck in the past, but apart from occasionally fiddling with the latest and greatest mallet, I have remained loyal to this classic style. The dark looks are complemented by the 'Black Emerald' color Stroke Lab shaft which features a steel bottom section and a graphite top section. This new version of the Stroke Lab shaft sees a shorter steel section than before, which saves 7g and makes it 40% lighter than a steel shaft. The saved weight is then redistributed to the head and grip to create a counterbalance putter that should create a more consistent tempo for greater accuracy.

Ping PLD Limited

The Odyssey branding has been incorporated tastefully, and the bear engraving showcases Toulon’s signature style. Like the other models, the Las Vegas brings a classic Odyssey shape into this upmarket world and does a very good job of creating the same White Hot OG benefits in a classic style. The “T” alignment aid on the flange of the putter is large and easy to use.

Blade vs. mallet: What style putters do the top-50 players in the world use? (2022 update)

He’s perhaps best known for his gregarious personality and he serves as a reminder to always be yourself. Toulon Design has always done a great job with the aesthetics of their putters, and the Chicago is no exception. The Charcoal Smoke Finish has a premium look; something that’s not true of all dark putter finishes.

They are both made by the same company, do the same job, but one costs nearly twice as much as the other. Unless you like to arrive in style, the Alfa is probably the more economical option.

WRX Spotlight Review: T Squared TS-713i Standard Series putter

Models like the Las Vegas are beautiful to look at and feel great, so it’s up to you whether that is worth the extra investment. More grooves on the face also reduces the points of impact with the ball and in turn this makes the Toulon Las Vegas sound very soft for an all metal putter, even when using a firmer ball. Ping PLD putters are available for pre-order today, and head over to Ping’s PLD website to book your own fitting here. Before I even hit a putt, it felt like this putter was destined to make its way into my golf bag.

The theories as to why such a large concentration of talenthails from Texas are long. Some had hard-luck upbringings, all were pitted against the most difficult competition and certainly all grew up in erratic and inconsistent weather patterns that fostered creativity and toughness. Mix it all together and you get a cauldron that undeniably produces golfing greatness. Why you can trust Golf Monthly Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Preston was born in Oceanside, California and is the youngest of the three Toulon boys. He attended the University of Oregon and his first job out of college was working in Minor League Baseball for a team called the Hillsboro Hops, located just outside of Portland, Oregon.

It is a blade-style putter with a slightly longer flange and a unique face insert milled from 6061 aluminum. The body of the Ts713i is milled from a solid block of 303 stainless steel that is produced in the USA and has a Teflon backing between the body and face insert. Toulon Golf was founded in 2015 with the goal of creating the most exquisite milled putters in golf and quickly became recognized as one of the premier milled putter makers in the world. We are a family of lifelong golfers dedicated to creating products golfers will love.

The company is based in Vista, California, and it was started by Sean Toulon, formerly involved with TaylorMade Golf for 16 years in product creation and design, and his sons, Tony and Joe. The founding principles of the company being mentorship, collaboration, and making putters with the serious golf enthusiast in mind — but all players welcome. After several years learning and building his knowledge of marketing in a new and quickly changing digital world, Tony approached his father about starting a family business that would bear the family name. Toulon Design was born, utilizing Tony’s eye for product, and connecting the new brand with golfers worldwide, Toulon Design quickly established itself as one of the premier milled putter brands in the game. Now, after more than six years at Odyssey Golf, he has returned his focus to Toulon Golf. As a co-founder of Toulon Golf, Tony will help drive the product direction, design, sales and marketing efforts, with a special focus on the US market.

Unveiled by Odyssey last year, the shaft combines graphite and steel to save 40 grams which is positioned in the head and grip of the putter. Whether or not that’s a good thing will be up to each player’s preferences. You can also make the head heavier or lighter by trading the 20 gram sole plate for a 7 or 40 gram plate. The highest level in the Ping PLD program feature the PLD Custom putters, where golfers can customize their own designs with either the help of a Ping Master fitter in person, or virtually through the PLD program online. To help golfers find their perfect putter, they will use the PLD iPing putting app, and a Ping Master fitter will analyze the player’s data to recommend a putter. The technology, coupled with the classic look and attention to detail, which is evident, make the San Diego an easy putter to love.

The impact produces a muted click and soft feel that I wasn’t expecting from this aluminum insert and thin face. The deep milling and Teflon coated back to the insert really work together to produce a great, responsive feel that I enjoyed. Deep milling usually makes me a little worried because it can soften the putter too much and lose that feel we all demand. In doing so, you will easily be able to vary the putter head weight from 352 grams to 365 grams to 385 grams. The Chicago hosel style also creates a very clean look at address with clear sight of the ball and the deeper head allows for a longer alignment line which makes lining up the putt easy.

If you wish to vary the weight balance of the head, then the two adjustable weights in the heel and toe of the sole can be replaced with options from 5, 10, 15 and 20g to suit your stroke. This is a nice option to see and could improve the MOI, so take professional fitting advice if  you are planning to do this to get the optimum set up for your stroke. Overall, the T Squared TS-713i is a great putter from young Tony Tuber that exceeded my expectations. His attention to detail, precision milling, and take on a classic head shape offer golfers something different without sacrificing any performance. If you are looking for a great feeling putter that is made in the USA, you should take a look at T Squared and see what they can make for you.

The face milling pattern is also unique to Toulon Design, and the product of not only the creativity of its design team, but its relentless pursuit of something better. The goal was to achieve a crisp, yet soft feel as the result of a putter face that would create gentle (rather than aggressive) overspin on the ball at the point of impact. Inspired by the tread pattern on car tires, Toulon Design putters use what is referred to as a “Deep Diamond Mill” pattern. Within each diamond is a separate groove (or “eyelid,” as I refer to it), which minimizes the opportunity for your golf ball to climb up the putter face upon contact. The result being, to date, a reasonable, yet appropriate amount of forward roll immediately after impact. Since 2015, Toulon has combined timeless design and impeccable quality with the most precise engineering to create the finest milled putters.

In terms of pricing, Zazzle's basic T-shirts are slightly more expensive than those found on competing websites. While we usually compare prices by looking at men's and women's shirts, the tees on Zazzle are all in one place, and there aren't enough options to split them out. So, including infant shirts, the prices here range from $14.90 to $28.70. Notably, T-shirts in sizes larger than XL come with an additional $5 charge, which makes this vendor even less competitive. Some of the design features like "elements" are fairly limited to basic shapes without any cool or unique options.

Waffle House Unit Manager SmartRecruiters

waffle house careers

The restaurant with its yellow sign and brown brick building is about as no-frills as you get, and while you can instantly smell grease in the air, you won't get a whiff of pretentiousness. Since its humble Georgia beginnings in 1955, Waffle House has been about serving its customers good, simple food and providing honest work for those who cook and serve that food. The night before the interview, do some research into the company and write down any questions that you may have regarding job advancement opportunities. Keep away from questions such as paid time off, or wages as this may give the wrong impression. Layout and iron the clothes that you plan on wearing keeping to casual or business casual clothes. Unit Manager – The Unit Manager responsibilities including recruiting and training new team members, provide excellent customer service with high food standards.

Restaurant Manager

As writer Andrew Knowlton found out when starting a 24-hour shift at the Waffle House, the chain is pretty serious about this policy. Quite possibly the trickiest aspect of learning the ropes of Waffle House employment is learning the Waffle House order language. In order to ensure that those scattered, smothered, and covered hash browns come out just as the customer ordered, the staff use a shorthand code (via The Wall Street Journal). A great perk of working a fast food gig is the employee discount, and Waffle House's policy is extremely generous.

Breakfast Classics

It encourages mutual trust, and that trust builds strong connections. Freebies pretty much cover most of the breakfast menu, according to the Reddit poster. But workers don't have to limit themselves to only bacon and grits for a complimentary meal.

Restaurant General Manager

The Waffle House newcomer ignored this advice and had to shave in the bathroom before starting his shift. Working at a job like Waffle House, which can be slammed with hungry patrons in a matter of mere seconds, can be incredibly tiring. A slow shift at the Waffle House typically means low tips, so while staying busy with hungry customers is certainly a good thing, it can understandably take a toll. Consider this little factoid when it comes to Waffle House's popularity. The quick service diner serves roughly 80,000 customers a day — and that's just in its Atlanta locations.

Regulars Get The Best Perks

Like a moth to flame, Waffle House attracts night owls seeking greasy, carb-heavy eats. It's the time of night when bar-hoppers and party-goers need to recharge with a cup of coffee or heck, a full breakfast spread, and no other restaurant is open except, of course, Waffle House. Employees certainly experience challenges at any time of day, but it's no coincidence that working the graveyard shift puts their job in a whole new light.

Make eye contact and whenever possible, answer the interview questions with examples from your previous school or work experience. If you are applying online for a management career, give the store about five days to look over your application and then call them to follow up on it. The following questions are typical interview questions found in the food industry and are listed to help you prepare.

Waffle House investing in more than just food, focusing on career development - WRTV Indianapolis

Waffle House investing in more than just food, focusing on career development.

Here at Waffle House, we believe in “Homegrown Leadership,” which means every Manager in Operations begins their career as a single unit manager. Below are the restaurants that currently have  opportunities available for the city and state you have selected. By May 2020, many Waffle Houses across the United States were forced to close (via Eater). The lucky ones that did stay open were doing takeout only, and for a place like Waffle House that depends on a steady stream of customers grabbing a quick bite, that meant trouble.

Claims Adjuster Director – Workers’ Compensation

Like so many serving jobs, Waffle House servers have a rather small hourly wage that starts at around $2.13 an hour (via Eater). Get those waffles to the customers quick, get'em out door, and get the next group of butts in the booth. A friendly server without much experience can actually make decent money working at the Waffle House. This is a great opportunity for someone without work experience to get into the restaurant industry as full training is provided. Another benefit is the discounted or free meals that team members get.

The COVID pandemic was especially hard on Waffle House employees

According to a Waffle House grill operator on Reddit, "I once ran out of waffle iron spray which meant I had to go a whole 10 hours telling people I wasn't able to serve them waffles of all things." Server Bambi Morgan on Quora said that while some days were slow, she often made $20 an hour. Both Morgan and server Desaree Altizer said it really boils down to the restaurant's location, the shift an employee works, and connecting with customers. As waitresses read out the orders to cooks, the grill operators arrange the plates in certain ways to let them know what each order entails. For example, a face-up mustard packet signifies a pork chop, and face down is country ham. There are tons of other complex condiment positions that tell staff just how you want everything on your order.

Another Waffle House employee on Reddit said they never saw any fights. "The closest we got was a customer who refused to leave after being asked." The Waffle House manager said it's only then that the police are called to escort any rude customers out. Managers often do many of the same menial tasks as first-day employees fresh on the job. "It's hard to get an inflated opinion of yourself when you're washing dishes every day," the company's president Walt Ehmer said (though how often Mr. Ehmer pulls dish duty is unknown). This company is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year including holidays.

Customers have the option of choosing hit songs from popular artists, but they can also opt for lesser-known songs. "There are Raisins in my Toast" and "Grill Operator" are just a smattering of original Waffle House tunes. The chain has had its own record label for over 35 years (via Atlanta Journal-Constitution). On a weekend, then you know the crowd can be a bit livelier than the customers who fill up the weekday morning barstools. Every employee in the service industry is going to run into rude customers occasionally, and Waffle House is no different. Katie Pearson, a Waffle House manager in South Carolina, said that many of her customers order the same thing every time they visit.

Over half the menu would be out of order, meaning no omelets, no breakfast platters, and definitely no batter to make waffles, one of the core reasons people go to Waffle House in the first place. At the end of the interview, smile and shake hands with the person that you had spoken to. Be gracious and show gratitude for the opportunity to speak with the person. Also, ask when the interviewer when they will follow up with you on the position. This may sound a little presumptuous, but it shows the interviewer that you have a true interest and that you are confident in your ability to obtain the job. On the day of the interview, look neat and tidy by being well groomed and trimmed.

Other responsibilities include increasing profitability by exercising food and labor cost control and implanting all company guidelines. To gain an entry level position, such as being a server or grill operator, you must be at least 16 years of age. To obtain a management position within the company, the minimum age requirement is 21 years of age. Everywhere you look, the house has walls of glass that blur out indoor-outdoor separation so that its guests can enjoy the lovely California weather year-round. Despite living his life in the public sphere for nearly two decades now, Mark has always maintained a sense of privacy about his family life and even his home. His “all-time goal” was to buy a private jet and he made that happen in 2017. The tech-loving, outspoken critic of NBA officials clearly loves investing in things that he enjoys.

And though the apartment seems to get a bit messy, it's easy to look past the clutter and admire the ocean view. The decor itself seems to be minimalist, but the luxurious kitchen counters bring an elegant look to the space. Still, Corcoran put work into her home, renovating a greenhouse-kitchen area that she outfitted with chandeliers. As of 2020, the penthouse is worth $12 million — less than what Corcoran paid for it when including renovations, but she'll likely make up for it in time.

In December 2018, Mark Cuban bought a California vacation home in Laguna Beach for $19 million.

In early 2022, Mark added another dimension to his diverse portfolio by launching the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, an initiative aimed at reducing generic drug prices in the United States. Mark Cuban’s dynamic and multifaceted career continues to make waves, and his ventures extend far beyond the realms of business and entertainment. Explore more about Mark Cuban’s achievements and lifestyle, including his renowned Dallas mansion, below.

Jason Aldean House: $10.2 Million Martin County Mansion

Since 2018 — per an article in Forbes — billionaire Mark Cuban has resided in a stunning Laguna Beach, California mansion. The home boasts not only six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, but also a library, wine cellar, gym, media room, and a theater. And, as if that weren't enough, guests of the home will also find a glistening pool off the patio — along with an outdoor kitchen that features a working pizza oven. These amenities definitely make soaking up the California sun incredibly easy. No luxury mansion is complete without an exceptional outdoor space, and Mark Cuban's mansion exceeds expectations. The sprawling grounds include a private tennis court, a basketball court, and a resort-style swimming pool surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens.

The French chateau-style home is built out of stone and sits on a massive property spread across 7 acres of land. The main house is designed to wrap around a grand entrance with a fountain at its center and is a sprawling 23,676 square feet in size. Cuban now owns three houses, and refers to a couple of his private jets as his "best toys," he said on the podcast. Buying a private jet "was my all-time goal, because the asset I value the most is time, and that bought me time," he told Money in 2017. If you dig little further, you'll find that O'Leary also spends time in a Miami, Florida studio. According to his Instagram, the "Shark Tank" star quarantined while in this property during March of 2020.

Some of the features include a good-sized living room, an eat-in kitchen equipped with top-quality appliances and a handful of sitting areas. Given Cuban's contributions to the Mavericks' success, have you ever wondered how a basketball executive like him lives? From the bold art pieces to the innovative design elements, each aspect reflects his zest for life, his love for technology, and his commitment to excellence. Preston Hollow, a name synonymous with luxury and exclusivity, is home to Dallas‘s elite. This neighborhood, with its sprawling estates and manicured lawns, represents the zenith of upscale living. Here, every home, including Cuban’s, is a masterpiece, reflecting the stature of its inhabitants. However, one of the bedrooms was converted into a home office equipped with a basic desk and work chair. The mansion contains plenty of eye-catching features fit for a billionaire like Cuban.

Mark Cuban a part owner of the Dallas Mavericks and purchased a mansion in 2018. The nearly 8,000-square-foot contemporary home is in the Montage Residences, where owners have access to the hotel's amenities, including room service, housekeeping, the spa and the concierge. Cuban's home has a private pool, but owners and their guests can also use the resort's three pools.

But perhaps his most impactful venture yet is the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Co. He is challenging the broken pharmaceutical industry by helping millions afford vital medications. Mark is showing that compassion and innovation can go hand in hand to solve some of society’s biggest challenges.

And, shortly before that, Herjavec's ex-wife sold their former home in Toronto, Canada for $17.4 million. This still leaves the shark with a Newport Beach house, though, where he can enjoy the California waterfront. Tim Smith of Coldwell Banker represented Cuban, whose purchase came amid the sale of his Landmark Theatres chain to real estate developer Charles Cohen.

It will come as no surprise to you, however, that one of the first modifications he made to the home was to install a state-of-the-art sound system. And given how much he loves to party, his house is ideally designed to host large gatherings. The little that we do know about his home can be pieced together from his various social media posts – large windows, high ceilings, and magnificent open spaces in every room. With 6 bedrooms, each of them beautifully styled, 6 full bathrooms, and 3 half bathrooms, the stunning home lines the coveted front row of Montage Residences. Within the Mark Cuban House, there are ten meticulously designed bathrooms, each a testament to opulence and functionality. From spa-like features to high-end fixtures, these bathrooms offer a private sanctuary for relaxation, complementing the overall luxurious ambiance of the mansion. According to the same article in Forbes, Cuban's mansion is located in an exclusive Laguna Beach resort — The Montage. So though the "Shark Tank" star has his own pool to enjoy, he also has access to the resort's three pools, spa, and restaurants. It features a stone fireplace that stretches from the floor to the ceiling, a luxurious kitchen with an island, and French oak floors. The property's interior is 3,550 square feet — smaller than some homes that his co-stars boast — but has the added bonus of waterfront views in one of California's most exclusive towns.

As I reflect on the magnificence of Cuban’s mansion, it reinforces my belief in the power of interior design to tell a story, to reflect an individual’s journey, and to transcend the ordinary. In every project I undertake, including this exploration of Cuban’s residence, my goal is to capture the essence of the inhabitant’s personality and to create spaces that are not just beautiful but meaningful. Cuban’s home is a prime example of how space can be transformed into a personal sanctuary that resonates with the owner’s journey, values, and aspirations. The Laguna Beach mansion features six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms and offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. The property also features amenities such as an office, a library, a theater, a bar, and a built-in wine cellar that holds 800 wine bottles, per Mansion Global.

The RoboBurger founders negotiated O'Leary and Rubin down to a 9% stake before saying yes, and expressed their excitement to partner with "two Sharks we would love to work with." Rubin also expressed doubts about the business model — specifically, whether tens of thousands of people would be willing to pay $3,000 per month, plus food costs. In January, Cuban told CBS's "Sunday Morning" that he'd worked hard to keep his wealth from changing his personality, and that he'd be just as happy with 1% of his net worth.

Outside the mansion, guests are greeted with a large driveway where a fountain sits. There is also a three-story guest house flanked by a swimming pool, basketball and tennis court, and a well-manicured lawn. For years, the team, its players, and its coaches just couldn’t get the job done. During his junior year of high school, he started taking psychology classes at the University of Pittsburgh. He decided to skip his senior year altogether and enroll full-time at the University of Pittsburgh. He transferred to Indiana University for his sophomore year and graduated in 1981. Mark Cuban lives in Preston Hollow, a very wealthy neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Other notable residents of the famous town include former President George W. Bush and pro golfer Jordan Spieth.

The backyard is also home to a guests house in the far right corner of the property. Again, it looks more like a full-size “normal person” house instead of a guest house. Besides the main house, there is also a 3-story guest house, which looks nothing short of a family home by itself. The property also came with 3 garages attached to the main house, but of course, that was too little space for a billionaire to park all his toys and so Mark built 2 more.

There's also an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, a pizza oven, and a wine cooler. Mark Cuban's new "mancave" has a bar and a glassed-in wine cellar that holds more than 800 bottles. Situated in the prestigious Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas, Texas, Mark Cuban's mansion boasts an incredible location. This affluent area is renowned for its opulent estates, privacy, and close proximity to high-end amenities.

Cuban is a successful business mogul that has allowed him to reach billionaire status. As a result, it isn't surprising that the former majority stake owner of the Dallas Mavericks can afford to live a lavish lifestyle. However, owners of the 13 private residences at The Montage also can use the resort's three pools as well as the spa, restaurants, and other amenities. Cuban is one of the stars of ABC's Shark Tank and the owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, so the media room with three widescreen TVs might have caught his interest. The lower-level room also has a bar, a wine cellar, and dark wood floors.

His love of movies, and maybe his own dreams of being on-screen, led him to purchase the movie theater chain Landmark Theaters and the distribution company Mongolia Pictures among other big media investments. Located in upscale Preston Hollow in Dallas, Mark Cuban’s chateau-style home is bigger than 5 basketball courts! "This is a big idea, and for that, I commend you guys. I just don't think you have the business model right," said Rubin. "But I think this could be very successful ... If it actually works, it could be massive. It could be a multibillion-dollar business."

Per a video tour of the home, it's certainly understandable why the property was so expensive. With views of Central Park and an astonishingly large terrace, the real estate mogul understood the worth of this penthouse from the beginning. Adjacent to the pool, the mansion features an invigorating spa that adds an extra layer of indulgence to the outdoor space. Whether under the clear skies or beneath the stars, this spa retreat offers a serene environment for unwinding and rejuvenation.

The owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team plans to use the six-bedroom home as a vacation get-away, according to Villa Real Estate's John Stanaland, who brokered the deal. Mark Cuban’s Dallas mansion boasts a full-sized tennis court, a massive pool with a pool house, and a separate guest house. The property also includes a multiple-car garage that resembles a house more than a garage. In addition to his Dallas mansion, Cuban also owns a $19 million house at the Laguna Beach Montage that he purchased in 2018. That property is one of the 13 homes in the exclusive gated neighborhood of the Montage. Because his home is located in the Montage community, Cuban has access to hotel amenities, including housekeeping, room service, and concierge, as reported by Business Insider.

In fact, she not only was she raised in the north side of the city, but also studied at Loyola University in the area, as noted by Country Living. And, thanks to her Instagram page, we often get a glimpse into the shark's Chicago home. Greiner regularly posts videos from her bed, offering followers exclusive peeks of her apartment. From the tufted cream headboard in her bedroom to her neutral couch, it's clear that Greiner keeps many aspects of her home minimalist — but definitely luxurious. After witnessing a company called Bee Thinking pitch its ideas on "Shark Tank," John was inspired to keep his own bees, and he now owns over 1 million bees.

According to The New York Times, John bounces between the city and rural New York, where he spends weekends at his Dutchess County cabin. He fishes bass from the lake, feeds his guinea hens, gathers eggs from his chickens, and rides his bicycle down a few trails. Occasionally, he'll wander along the Hudson River and grab lunch before heading back to his cabin to collect peaches, pears, and grapes from his property.

Mark Cuban’s Dallas mansion is more than a home; it’s a masterpiece of interior design, a beacon of luxury living, and a reflection of the man behind it. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved with vision, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. Since purchasing the mansion, Mark Cuban has installed a state-of-the-art sound system and made various other upgrades to suit his lifestyle. The interior design includes a home office, known for being quite messy, reflecting Cuban’s busy and dynamic life.

Details also include a cable-railing staircase, picture windows, and both custom tiles and a free-standing tub in the master bathroom, solidifying the luxurious aesthetic of the home. Mark Cuban, an American billionaire and influential television personality, has been a prominent figure since 2011 as one of the main sharks on the popular show Shark Tank. Born on July 31, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Cuban earned his degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of MicroSolutions and Broadcast.com, both of which he successfully sold, reaping substantial profits. Beyond his ventures in technology, Cuban is renowned as the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and Magnolia Pictures.

The site could benefit from the more prominent use of the AJAX cart/cart drawer. The Cart and Search function on the left don’t seem to line up with the text. Making things worse, the subtitles to that top menu are superfluous. Meanwhile, the secondary menu looks to be in the wrong spot, starting midway through the feature image rather than the top of the site. We always seemed to get stuck in that cupcake submenu dropdown, which might be a display issue. Some custom features, like an announcement bar that can be turned off, could be perfect to replace that yellow banner.

One of the poorly designed websites, Sandra’s website is minimalistic, sticking to a plain web design. The site’s hero section is just a logo imprinted on an image of the sky, displaying no text to announce to visitors what to expect. Beneath the hero section, the site displays segregated homepage sections characterized by poor navigation. The header text listing the name of the designer stands out pinned on the top of the homepage and displays over the site’s main content. Two CTA buttons displayed at the top of the homepage blend in with other regular texts in a similar design.

Bad Website Examples

Unreadable Fonts or Poor Typography

One of the site’s many design mistakes, the hero image displays information text in White, which blends with the plain web design. One of the bad website design examples, the Papaya Wellness website falls short of building an effective connection with users through its website design. The entire homepage uses a centralized layout, with different sections squeezed into different colored circles. You can’t help but notice the display of the header section and CTA buttons in similar black-and-white color schemes, making it difficult to distinguish between them.

Bad usability websites could cause significant frustration and even mean your visitors will exit quickly. Disney Cruise Line Casting Call Searching for Mainstage Dancers

Several people Insider spoke to said that being the right height, specifically the "Disney height" that casting directors mark down at the audition, plays a key role in getting past the first-round cuts. It is a very secluded environment in which you don’t always have control. With time, that massive floating city you first felt engulfed by starts to feel very small. One of the best things about working on a cruise ship is the luxury of travel. Of course, we were still working so we couldn’t get off in every single port every day, but the ratio was pretty great. Over my three contracts with DCL (6 months on board each time), I have done some amazing things; swam with wild stingrays, ridden horseback in the Caribbean Sea, braved the steepest zip line in the world.

Explore hundreds of monologues, scenes and audition songs. The contract is well underway, and we have all gotten used to our new floating home. My first two contracts were both on the Fantasy with an eastern/western Caribbean itinerary and let’s just say, I am now very familiar with Cozumel and Grand Cayman to name a few. There are so many parks, ships, and shows all over the world, it’s hard to know where you fit, especially at the start of your career.

She told Insider she was originally "fitted" to play Alice alongside Mickey, but said her managers decided to wait until she was older to approve her for a face character. "I guess I regret letting it wear me down the way it did, because I started to get very upset that I knew I was talented enough for some of these jobs," she said. "And to see them go to white women, who already have so many opportunities, it started to break down my confidence and make me really upset." Auditioning can be an especially distressing experience for people of color. But in her experience, "no matter how much you want it" the likelihood of being cast is "really, really small." "If you think about characters, they have to act everything out without words. So they wanna be able to see if you can communicate in a very big and exaggerated way without words," Tremmel said.

Besides the long list of fare inclusions, there are other reasons to consider a luxury Alaska cruise. Luxury cruise lines sailing to Alaska often call on more off-the-beaten path places. For example, Seabourn routinely calls on Wrangell, as well as the Inian Islands on its Alaska itineraries, neither of which are common stops for most mainstream Alaskan cruise lines. Silversea's fleet of small ships offers extreme comfort for the adventurous traveller. With one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the industry, multiple dining options, expert guides and authentic experiences guaranteed, there is nothing more rewarding than a cruise to Alaska with Silversea.

From Seward, you could join a challenging hike to Exit Glacier, which flows slowly from the enormous Harding Icefield. Wherever you go in Alaska, you’ll see glaciers in the distance, high in the mountains, sometimes hanging dramatically over a wall of rock. From 6-night getaways to immersive, 13-night Cruisetours that combine the wild, forested beauty of Alaska’s coast with the majesty of Denali National Park, there’s an Alaskan cruise style and length to suit you. Sail one-way between Vancouver and Seward or Vancouver and Seattle, round-trip from Vancouver or Seattle, or on a Cruisetour between Vancouver and Anchorage or Fairbanks.

Luxury Alaska Cruises: All You Need to Know

Black cod and halibut are delicious and often served with fries; fish and chips is a popular dish in Alaska. You’ll also find seasonal berries on every menu, locally roasted coffee, and a wide assortment of craft beers. When you’re packing for an Alaska cruise, you’ll want to plan for any kind of weather, from hot sun to ethereal mist and rain showers—often in the same day. Layers, light waterproof jackets, good walking shoes, and a hat and gloves are the essentials; Alaska can be cold as well as warm and sunny.

Culture, History, and Natural Beauty Become One in Alaska’s Wrangell

On board, relish all-suite accommodations, butler service, complimentary sustainable caviar and alcohol. Best of all, this ship's asymmetrical design — new to Silversea — delivers phenomenal views from pretty much everywhere — even in glass elevators. Further, a higher-than-average crew-to-passenger ratio means cruisers can expect stellar service on their luxury Alaska cruise. Think hot beverages at the gangway after chilly days in port or teams of local experts and photographers brought onboard to help you learn and experience as much as possible about the Last Frontier.

Other extras include pillow-top mattresses, priority seating at shows, priority boarding for tenders and the services of a concierge and 24-hour butler. Silversea has long maintained a presence in Alaska, often with multiple ships. Look for both seven- to ten-night one-way cruises, and an occasional fourteen-night loop. Choose between their door-to-door fares with airfare or an otherwise inclusive fare without the air called port-to-port. A noteworthy feature on Silversea is butler service for all cabin categories.

Oceania Cruises

If you like, enjoy the latter for dinner after a day of adventurous excursions; dishes will be served course-by-course. Passengers love the Club, the hangout for afternoon tea and nighttime dancing. The biggest suites come with even more perks, such as a one-night pre-cruise hotel and butler service. If large ships with robust entertainment programs and extensive children's programs are more your cup of tea (or that of your traveling party), you can still enjoy a luxury Alaska cruise vacation -- in a luxury suite. Several mainstream Alaska cruise lines offer top-of-the-line staterooms or suite complexes that allow for exclusive access to higher-level perks that usually come standard on luxury cruises. Explore the best Alaska cruises available with a range of departure ports including Vancouver, Seward, and Seattle, and a choice of thrilling round-trip or one-way itineraries.

Cashmere blankets await you in your suite, so you can stay warm and cozy on your private veranda while taking tail-flipping whale pics. Crystal offers a limited number of Alaska cruises, but if you snag one, expect the ultimate in luxurious cruising. Fares are all-inclusive of tips, Wi-Fi, most specialty dining and some excursions. Below, we'll break down what luxury Alaskan cruises are, which lines offer them and what sets the offerings of those lines apart from what you'll find with more mainstream lines. If you’re lucky, you can spot brown and black bears; the Spasski River Valley near Icy Strait Point is a great place for bear-spotting, as are the rivers around Ketchikan in July, peak salmon spawning season, when bears come to feast on the fish. For guaranteed bear viewing, head to the Fortress of the Bear near Sitka, which raises orphaned bears in a natural setting.

Seabourn Odyssey sails both one-way itineraries between Vancouver and Juneau and round-trip itineraries from Vancouver. It visits popular Alaska ports like Ketchikan and Sitka, as well as less-touristed destinations like Wrangell, Prince Rupert (a port city in Canada) and Rudyerd Bay. Note that the ship is departing the cruise line after its Alaska season, so this is your last chance to sail on the elegant cruise ship. The storied Cunard cruise line, with more than 180 years of seafaring history, returned to Alaska after nearly 30 years when it arrived back in the Great Land in 2019.

For more pampered vacation days and more time spent exploring the 49th state, choose the yacht-like, 458-passenger all-suite Seabourn Odyssey and its 11-night round-trip Vancouver voyage for your Alaska luxury cruise. Celebrity Cruises' take on the mainstream-gone-luxury concept is The Retreat. Those booked in suites in The Retreat have access to a dedicated restaurant; premium beverage packages; unlimited specialty dining; free Wi-Fi; free mini-bar setup; and concierge services. Edge-class ships feature some of the most luxurious suites at sea, including two-story Edge Villas with private plunge pools. High-end Alaska cruise lines also tend to rotate various ships through Alaskan waters -- changing ships from season to season. It's also worth remembering that Alaska cruises have a short season, typically offered only from May through September, but sometimes extending into April and October.

Bigger, costlier accommodations come with complimentary welcome Champagne, a coffee maker and priority booking for shore excursions and restaurants. While not an expedition vessel, Seabourn Odyssey hosts about 14 experts on Alaska sailings, including academics, scientists and other wildlife experts. They guide the optional (extra fee) Ventures by Seabourn excursions, such as Zodiac, kayaking, hiking and catamaran tours. Highlights include a four- to six-mile hike through a rainforest past a glacial lake to Mendenhall Valley and kayaking to Hubbard Glacier. A professional photographer lectures and offers small-group workshops on how to capture perfect wildlife pics. Whether you're on a luxury Alaska cruise or not, you can have luxury experiences in port.

Seabourn Odyssey is offering seven, 10, 11 and 14-night cruises from May through August 2024. Fares for this June 17, 2024, 11-night round-trip Vancouver "Inside Passage and Alaska Fjords" cruise start at $7,799 per person. Although this is the ship's last summer with Seabourn (Seabourn Quest assumes this route in 2025), no shortcuts are taken for the final season fling. Count alcohol, Regiis Ova Caviar (a company co-founded by superstar chef Thomas Keller) and gratuities among inclusions. The crew pulls out all the stops for Seabourn's Caviar on the Ice, a complimentary deck party with — you guessed it — loads of caviar to eat and bubbly to sip. It's a riff on Seabourn's iconic Caviar in the Surf party offered in tropical climes and just as scrumptious.

Guided skiff tours will take guests in search of Alaskan wildlife in remote bays and secret coves. Even with a season that only runs from April through October, Alaska draws roughly 40 big cruise ships and dozens of smaller cruise vessels each year, making it one of the most popular cruise destinations in the world after the Caribbean and Europe. The best Alaska cruises range from off-the-beaten-path voyages on vessels carrying fewer than 100 passengers to weeklong jaunts through the Inside Passage aboard megaships that hold thousands. Luxury cruise lines have the highest base fares, but include more excursions, often everything except flightseeing or private tours. Premium lines have slightly lower cruise fares but only include a handful of tours in each port. Mainstream lines do little (if anything) to help guests mitigate the excursion costs, even in pricey suites.

Star of the Seas will sail out of Port Canaveral; however, the home port for the third ship is currently unknown. All new suites, excluding the Sunset Junior Suite, are part of the Royal Suite Class' Sky or Star Tier, meaning that they come with all-day access to Coastal Kitchen and The Grove Suite Sun Deck. Prior to arriving in Miami on January 10, the ship sailed to Cádiz, Spain and Ponce, Puerto Rico for some finishing touches. Icon of the Seas will offer 7-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Miami, Florida.

With this video series, “Making an Icon,” Royal Caribbean takes you behind the scenes on delivering the world’s best vacation. The forthcoming Icon of the Seas℠ — is poised to be its greatest creation yet promising bolder-than-ever onboard experiences, cutting-edge design and milestone advances in the cruise line's push for cleaner energy. Although no large cruise ship can yet claim to be “green,” Royal Caribbean has taken significant steps forward with Icon. It will be the line’s first ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fuel cell technology, reducing carbon emissions and especially sulfur emissions. With capacity for nearly 10,000 passengers and crew, Icon of the Seas is billed as part all-inclusive resort, part theme park, and a massive destination unto itself. Clocking in at 250,380 gross tons and measuring nearly a quarter mile long (1,198 feet to be exact), the vast ship will sport a total of 20 decks, 18 of which will be accessible to guests.

The team is given a set time limit to solve the secret plot hidden within the room. Near Aquatheater's entrance is Royal Bling (Retail Shop) selling Royal Caribbean-logoed/RCI-branded merchandise (keepsakes/jewelry rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc). Among the store's merchandise is a US$100,000 gold-adorned chalice, the owner of which will enjoy unlimited onboard beverages for life. How Big Is ‘Icon Of The Seas’?

Voted Best Private Island by Travel Weekly readers, it’s a place unlike any other. Pick from seven different pools, plus nine whirlpools to satisfy any mood you're in. Or cool off with refreshing cocktails at The Lime and Coconut® bar spanning multiple levels of chill beach vibes. This is your week to enjoy everything you’ve ever loved about every vacation — all rolled into one. On this new ship, a cool 80% of its 2,805 cabins can accommodate parents and their children.

Icon will showcase eight distinct “neighborhoods,” of which five are brand-new concepts, and it will feature the largest array of family-centric accommodations in the entire Royal Caribbean fleet. Royal Caribbean is known for operating some of the world’s largest cruise ships, creating vacation resorts at sea, and in early 2024, its long-awaited new vessel will aim to redefine big ship cruising once again. Icon of the Seas, the first in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon class of cruise ships, is set to make its debut in January. Instead, there's The Hideaway, which was designed to have a Las Vegas pool party vibe and features the first suspended infinity pool at sea, an expansive bar area, day beds, whirlpools, and lounge chairs.

Former names: ICON1, Mayer Turku NB-1400

Spanning more than 365 metres in length, the vessel clocks in three metres longer than the Wonder of the Seas, the current largest ship in the world. The main attraction here is the first suspended infinity pool at sea, flanked by tiered lounge space, hot tubs and a champagne bar. Most of the ship’s pools are clustered across several decks at Chill Island, complete with numerous ocean view hot tubs and a swim-up bar, Swim and Tonic. When comparing it to the Wonder of the Seas, which is the current record holder for the world's largest cruise ship, Icon surpasses it in size and passenger capacity. In June 2023, the new 'Icon of the Seas' cruise ship set sail for the first time for its sea trials.

Each of the zones will offer an array of experiences, live entertainment, and ways to grab a bite and a drink, the company added. Equipped with LNG-powered engines and new fuel cell technology, the Icon of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean International’s greenest ship yet. The Icon of the Seas will become the biggest cruise ship in the world when it debuts in early 2024.

The new Icon of the Seas will carry 7,600 passengers at maximum occupancy (or nearly 10,000 people when you account for the crew) when it first sets sail with guests Jan. 28, 2024. A colorful addition to the top decks is Thrill Island, an epicenter for exhilarating activities. It will include classic Royal Caribbean attractions like the FlowRider surf simulator, mini-golf and rock climbing, together with what the line claims will be the largest water park at sea. Liquefied natural gas was envisioned as the primary fuel for the ICON-class ships, which decreases CO2 (carbon dioxide) and completely eliminates soot particles, nitrogen oxide (NOX), and sulfur oxide (SOx) emissions.

The 2-level wellness complex (decks 12-14) consists of Vitality Spa, Vitality Cafe (open for breakfast and lunch), and To Dry For (blow-dry bar for quick beauty fixes/hairstyling, with a beverage service). The Main Dining Room/MDR is on 3 levels (decks 3-4-5) and is traditionally positioned aft. The MDR has a different 3-course menu each night of the voyage (with differently-themed cuisine) and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Destination elevators allow passengers to more efficiently move between decks for reduced crowding and better passenger flow. In front of the lifts, there are digital panels to select which deck to go to and which lift to take.

Whether you cruise multiple times per year or you're new to cruising, the goal of Royal Caribbean Blog is for it to be a useful resource for keeping up to date with what's new and exciting with Royal Caribbean. Started in 2010, Royal Caribbean Blog offers daily coverage of news and information related to the Royal Caribbean cruise line along with other relevant topics of cruising, such as entertainment, news, photo updates and more. Elizabeth graduated from New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute with her M.A. Growing up, she had the privilege of traveling frequently with her family and fell in love with cruising after sailing on the Oasis of the Seas her freshman year of high school. She wanted to pursue a career that highlighted her passion for travel and strengths as a writer. Moreover, Icon will have a long lineup of other energy efficiency initiatives onboard, all of which help to contribute to Royal Caribbean Group's goal of introducing a net-zero ship by 2035.

Accommodation includes an array of family staterooms, suites and the first Ultimate Family townhouse. Spanning three levels, this spacious retreat includes a slide, cinema, karaoke, huge balcony and a private entrance to the ship's Surfside family neighbourhood. With 2,805 staterooms, the ship's focus is family-style holidays and it has a capacity for 7,800 passengers and 2,350 crew members. Despite the focus on families, there are plenty of spaces for adults to escape.

As the first ship in Royal Caribbean's new Icon class, the 250,800-gross-ton vessel overshadows virtually all of its predecessors — in size and in the number of water slides, pools, dining venues, and stateroom options. Icon's Royal Promenade has length 110 m/362 ft, and unlike RCI's previous Royal Promenade design has floor-to-ceiling windows providing unobstructed ocean views. Also, on the lower level (in the Embarkation Area starboard on Deck 5) is the "1400 Lobby Bar" (with indoor/outdoor seating, serves juice-based beverages and cocktails). On the opposite end of the scale, Chill Island is where four of the ship's seven pools are found, and it's the place to unwind and catch some rays. Here, there's the cruise line's first swim-up bar, plus an adults-only pool and Cove Pool which has comfy dome daybeds and uninterrupted ocean views. The Icon class (formally Project Icon) is a class of cruise ships ordered by Royal Caribbean International to be built by Meyer Turku in Turku, Finland.

The biggest thing to ever hit cruising is coming in January 2024, when Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas—which will be the largest cruise ship in the world—will debut to passengers for the first time. Brace yourself for Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea with six record-breaking slides. Cold temperatures from the LNG tanks are utilized by the onboard cooling systems. The underwater hull's exterior is with a specialized coating (anti-fouling paint) to slow the growth of and facilitate the detachment of marine organisms. The Sun Deck (positioned midship) is on two levels and fitted with a large swimming pool surrounded by a sunbathing area. A series of columns (midship-aft) support the waterslides and the Ropes Course (costs US$90 per person).
